Our Mission

We Create The Peace is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization reimagining the future of community and law enforcement relations through wellness, mindfulness, and connection. Our programs are designed to nurture social cohesion, enhance mental health, and build trust between officers and the communities they serve—starting with our youngest citizens.

Our Vision

We believe that holistic wellness is the pillar of a brighter future for the community. Safe environments to practice and develop social-emotional skills, nervous system regulation, and broader perspectives are essential to teach children early on, during critical periods of brain development and neural pathway formation. These skills set them up for personal, family, professional, and social success. Doing this alongside law enforcement officers creates a shared experience in positive community policing, reinforcing the idea that we all hold the power to create the peace we want to see in the world.

YOUTH PROGRAMS

Peace Pep Rally

Our signature youth program, the Peace Prep Rally, brings yoga, mindfulness, and play-based activities into schools to support emotional regulation and social-emotional learning. These experiences equip children with coping skills that are often not included in the school curriculum or reinforced in their home environments, yet are essential for helping them navigate both everyday challenges and more difficult circumstances often experienced in underserved communities.

This approach also gives students a more humanized understanding of police officers while fostering early rapport and meaningful connections between youth and officers. We aim to help children see local police officers as trusted community partners they can turn to when they are in need or when their home environment feels unsafe, while promoting positive life outcomes and helping reduce the risk of future involvement with the legal system.

We work directly with school districts, law enforcement agencies, and community partners to provide immersive, trauma-informed wellness experiences led by certified practitioners. Our programs are tailored for elementary school students and local police departments, with a focus on underserved communities.

Power of Connection

Positive face-to-face interactions help reduce stereotypes and increase empathy between groups, a principle supported by decades of social psychology research known as the "contact hypothesis."

Power of Wellness

Research shows that mindfulness and wellness practices strengthen emotional regulation and empathy while reducing stress and reactivity. By giving youth and police officers these tools, we help create calmer conversations, healthier relationships, and stronger communities.

Power of Play

Play is one of the most powerful ways humans connect. Studies have found that shared play encourages teamwork, reduces stress, and strengthens the social bonds that foster trust and belonging. When youth and officers laugh, move, and solve challenges together, relationships grow naturally.

POLICE PROGRAMS

Peace Wellness Retreat

Launching in 2027, Peace Wellness Retreats is our signature officer wellness program designed to address the deeper human needs behind the challenges facing law enforcement and the communities they serve. Our mission is holistic in nature, recognizing that the well-being of our officers, our youth, and our communities is deeply interconnected. By supporting those who serve, we strengthen the foundation for healthier relationships, safer communities, and a more compassionate future.

Law enforcement officers experience unique occupational stressors, including repeated exposure to trauma, high-pressure decision-making, and demanding work environments that can impact their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Peace Wellness Retreats provide an intentional opportunity for officers to step away from the demands of the profession and invest in restoration, healing, and personal growth.

Through all-expense-paid, 7-day retreats, officers participate in curated wellness experiences designed specifically for their needs, including nervous system regulation, mindfulness, therapeutic bodywork, nature-based healing, and perspective-expanding workshops. Our goal is for officers to return renewed, resilient, and better equipped to lead, serve, and connect with their communities.

Officers are selected through nomination to ensure this opportunity reaches those who need it most, as identified by their peers, colleagues, and community. Currently available to law enforcement officers serving within the United States.
